Forever Lost, Now Found

Description

One... Two.... Three..... Now! A loud revving filled the air, echoing across the banks of snow that had formed in a small amount of time, having caught the Celica out. The engine noise sounded for a few more moments, before a large scraping noise was heard, followed by a horrendous screeching, before the Celica's engine completely cut out, leaving her wincing in pain. She thought she had gotten away... Thought she had made it. It had been, what, several months? Since she had left her family home at least. She remembered after her disappearance, she had traveled as fast and as far as she could on the amount of petrol she had. She had eventually ended up in a small village north of her home, staying there a few days to re-cooperate, before being on her way again. She traveled from place to place, traveling with speed and somewhat, purpose. And after a while, she believed that she was free. No more living in fear. She was her own car now.

Though this was short lived.

After traveling from the Portsmouth area, the dead of winter now upon England, she had sensed that something wasn't right. She traveled by street lamps, trying to remain out in public, though a wrong turning took her away from the busy motorways, and onto darker, less lit streets. She had scanned her environment with her gaze, taking in as much as she could, the overwhelming gut wrenching feeling that something was wrong beginning to take over. She shivered, her metal contracting the icy air that surrounded her, making her clench her jaw slightly. Something was wrong. Though she had no idea what, and it scared her. A few moments of silence had met her, causing her to roll forward slowly, keeping her wits about her. The murky darkness that had surrounded her offered her little protection, making her decide to make a dash for it. The heavens above had now opened, producing not rain for once, but snow, though the Celica paid no heed to this, as she revved her engine and stormed ahead. The bushes, trees, and oncoming fields passed by in a blur, Shadow not paying attention anymore. All she had felt was fear. Fear of what was coming, despite not knowing what. Though what had happened after all occurred so suddenly, even now, after the event, it left her head reeling. A loud crack had sounded, before pain had erupted in Shadow's back tire. Another bang and more pain in her bumper, the force of whatever hit her causing her to spin out, crashing her left side into a small wall that bordered someone's garden, sending her flying over it. She had barely had any time to respond before something large hit her other side, catching a glimpse of a Toyota symbol, freezing her with fear. She had been found......

She had backed away, coughing up oil, getting a good look at her attackers. Two males that worked for her mother stood before her, sneering and moving toward her.
"Hey lil Shadow... Mummy's worried about you...." One had snarled at her, ramming into her front, though she turned last moment so he had hit her side again. Pain had ripped through her, causing her ability to think and to react to lessen. The other focused on holding her still eventually as the first tried to open her hood, though her prevention caused them to resort to her undercarriage, trying to almost gut her. Her fear, anger and desire to get away had now taken over all her instincts, her head nothing but a woozy mess now, unable to clear her mind. She had struck out here, multiple times, over and over and over, trying to save her own life. She landed a few hits, before moving, moving as fast, as much as she could. She didn't know where or how. But she wanted, needed to get away. Her heart was pounding and her oil was frozen, the fear deep within her body. She hadn't known how long she had traveled, or how she had gotten away, before she found the road hard to grip. The snow was now covering everything thick and fast, to which she could now see was to late to do anything about, her braking tires locking, making her swerve into a large snow drift. It was here that she lay now.

Had it been minutes? Hours? She couldn't tell. After another failed attempt to restart her engine, she felt the tears prickle her eyes. She didn't know what they had taken from her, what they had mutilated. All she knew she was broken again... she would never be free. Ever. She wanted to cry. She wanted the snow to bury her, for her to never return to this world. Her eyes fell to her hood, watching as the snow fell across it, noting her light was now flashing, in the usual manner when she was upset. She was trying to control it, trying to pin point the flashes that were involuntary. She knew morse code, though it was useless in this day and age. It was here now as she was busy trying to pattern her lights, that the faint sound of tires crunching on snow reached her, forcing her to shut her eyes. She breathed in sharply, holding back a choke.

"If you're going to do this.... Do it now" Her voice cracked here, gritting her teeth. Her side and body ached, her head pounding. She couldn't fight anymore. The pain was too much. Though.... no hit to the hood came. No ram to the side. No sneering... no laughing.... only....

"Do what, exactly? If it's anything like those Toyotas were doing to you back there.... I don't think I'll be joining in" A male voice reached her, though it wasn't one she knew. Her eyes flew open, and she looked to its owner, seeing a burgundy car stood more to the side. She instantly flinched away, using one of her good tires to push herself more into the snow.

"Hey, I'm not going to harm you. You've really gone through a tough time... I understand you're missing a few parts. I know a place that will be able to fix you up..." The male spoke again, moving so he was more visible to her. "I saw what happened.... I'm sorry I wasn't there to help from the start" He said here, causing her to widen her eyes.

"You.... You helped?" She said here, resting more now, though still a little on edge. The male looked a little shocked, almost as if offended.

"Of course I helped... what decent car wouldn't?" He asked here, though didn't wait for a response. "What did they want with you? You can't be some drug dealer, you're record is clean. You, in fact, dont even seem to have a record!" He said here, frowning into his side mirror. Shadow stayed silent a moment, looking to the floor, unsure of what to say. She had never opened up to anyone about what went on. "I.... They know me is all.... I ..... I have a... bad history that i'm trying to escape from... That's all I can say" She said here, slumping a little. The car watched her for a moment, nodding understandably.

"Believe me, I understand. In fact... I know a fair few cars that come from.... bad histories... In fact, I think you would benefit from having some of those around you. You look like you've been fighting a long time" He offered a sympathetic smile here, making Shadow feel more at ease. "Let me help build you back up... I can help you" He said here, moving to her front now, using a tire to brush snow off of her hood, after she flinched a little.

"My name is Leland Turbo. British Intelligence." He smiled here, a grappling hook wrapping round her axle gently, slowly pulling her free from the snow. She smiled back at him, her mind now clear once again.

"I'm Shadow.... Shadow Carlisle"
